The pedal
What each control does.
Three macro knobs, plus Mix. Each knob moves several things at once, so a small number of controls does the work of a whole pedalboard.
-
Warmth
Tube-style saturation with a little tape give and sag underneath, so full Warmth reads mostly as drive and tone, not an obvious wobble.
-
Terrain
Granular texture: three layered voices (near-unison, reversed, and an octave down) with a backwards swell on top, all moved by one knob.
-
Altitude
A dense ambient wash that swells in slowly, with a decay that stretches from one to five seconds, over an echo that bounces left and right between a near valley and a distant canyon.
-
Mix
How much of the processed sound is blended with your dry signal.
-
Bypass
A true pass-through, so you can hear exactly what you started with.
-
Freeze
Latches the Altitude wash into a practically endless sustain, while your dry signal keeps passing through underneath.
-
Drift
Warmth, Terrain, Altitude and Mix start creeping toward maximum from wherever they sit, each at its own pace, over three to eight minutes. Switch it off and they stay where they are.
